Calling all singers in grades 3 through 5! The Children’s Choir of Kershaw County will hold an interest meeting Monday, August 17th at 5:30 p.m. in the music room at the Arts Center of Kershaw County in Camden.

No audition is required, and registration is now open through the Arts Center website.

You’re invited to a Gospel Concert at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, located at 7186 Black River Road in Camden, on Sunday, August 23, beginning at 3:00 p.m. The program will feature The Gospel Solotones of Camden, along with Brother Bobby Wilson and The Chosen Ones, and will honor the memory of Brother James Elmo Davis, remembered as the manager of The Gospel Solotones. Celebrate 28 years of ministry with Unity United Methodist Church during its 28th Anniversary Gospel Concert on Sunday, September 6, at 4:00 p.m. The celebration will be held at Unity United Methodist Church, 1332 Fort Jackson Road in Lugoff and will feature praise and worship by Unity’s Combined Choir, along with special musical guests The Singing Crusaders, The Gospel Hi-Lites, Men of Praise, and The Unity Men’s Choir. Master of Ceremonies will be Brother Leonard Murphy. Everyone is invited to enjoy an afternoon of inspiring gospel music and worship.

American Legion Post 17 in Camden invites the community to America 250 Reflections on Saturday, September 12. Activities begin at 3 p.m. with food trucks, children’s activities and a cornhole championship, followed by guest speakers from 5 to 6. A dance featuring Shiftin’ Gears begins at 6:30 p.m. Dance tickets are $10 and available at Needful Things in Camden. Come enjoy an evening of family fun while reflecting on America’s 250 years.

The Lugoff-Elgin High School Robotics Team is looking for new members! Students in grades 7 through 12 who live or attend school in Kershaw County are invited to an Open House at the LEHS Annex.
