Camden City Council meets Tuesday evening May 19th with the proposed 2026-2027 city budget taking center stage. Council members will hold first reading on a budget ordinance totaling more than 66 million dollars across all city funds. The proposal includes two percent increases to both water and sewer base and usage rates, along with funding for paving, sanitation, public safety, and tourism operations. Council will also consider a second reading on several property annexations and recognize recipients of the city’s 2026 Historic Preservation Awards. Tuesday’s meeting begins at 5:30 at Camden City Hall and it is open to the public.
