The City of Camden is now under Stage 2 drought conditions, triggering mandatory water conservation efforts across the Catawba-Wateree River Basin. City officials say the region has experienced nine straight months of below-average rainfall, leading to lower stream and reservoir levels. Residents are being asked to eliminate non-essential water use and limit lawn watering to no more than twice a week during overnight hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Officials say the goal is to reduce overall water usage by up to ten percent.
