The City of Camden is now under Stage 2 drought conditions, triggering mandatory water conservation efforts across the Catawba-Wateree River Basin. City officials say the region has experienced nine straight months of below-average rainfall, leading to lower stream and reservoir levels. Residents are being asked to eliminate non-essential water use and limit lawn watering to no more than twice a week during overnight hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Officials say the goal is to reduce overall water usage by up to ten percent. Warnings and possible penalties could be issued for repeated violations. Residents with questions can contact Camden Public Works.
