Kershaw County Council is set to tackle a full agenda at its April 28th meeting, with several key items impacting growth, development, and county operations. Council will hold a public hearing on proposed changes to zoning regulations, specifically tied to rural country club requirements. Lawmakers will also begin first reading of the county’s upcoming fiscal year budget, including setting the millage rate and service fees.
Several ordinances are up for second reading, including a proposed building permit allocation system aimed at managing rapid growth, along with updates to subdivision standards, landscaping rules, parking requirements, and driveway access.Council will also consider measures related to off-site parking limits, infrastructure guarantees for new developments, and updates to development review procedures.
In addition, a third reading is scheduled for a rezoning request on Youngs Bend Road, along with an ordinance addressing solicitation and panhandling regulations in unincorporated areas.
