The Kershaw County Fire Service is being recognized once again for its commitment to public safety. The department has earned its sixth consecutive Fire Safe Community designation through Fire Safe South Carolina, part of the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Fire Chief Matthew Bullard says the recognition reflects countless hours of training, smoke alarm installations, and community outreach efforts aimed at keeping residents safe. He also noted all three fire agencies in the county—Camden Fire Department, Kershaw County Fire Service, and Lugoff Fire Rescue—received the designation this year.
Officials say the continued recognition highlights a strong countywide commitment to fire prevention and education.
