Members of the Kershaw County School District Teacher Forum traveled to Columbia on Wednesday for a Legislative Hill Day event at the South Carolina State House. During the visit, the educators met with State Representatives Cody Mitchell, Brandon Newton, Keishan Scott, and Robert Reese to discuss key education issues impacting teachers and students across the state. The group was also introduced in the House chamber by Representative Cody Mitchell. The visit was coordinated by Craig King, Director of Teacher Leadership, and Toni Chewning, Director of Association Activities with the Palmetto State Teachers Association, giving local educators an opportunity to use their voices to advocate for the profession and for South Carolina students.
