City of Camden is inviting residents to take part in a Community Tree-Planting Day on Monday, February 16th, at Scott Park. Volunteer planting sessions will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and again from 1 to 3 p.m.
Participants will meet at Scott Park on Battleship Road before planting native trees at Scott Park and City Arena Park. City officials say all planting sites will be prepared in advance, making it easy for volunteers of all ages to participate. Volunteers are encouraged to register ahead of time by emailing treelady2010@gmail.com and they will receive a certificate for a free tree at the city’s Tree Give-Away event in March.
