The Kershaw County Council will meet Tuesday evening at 6 o’clock at the County Government Center in Camden. On the agenda, council members will consider several zoning and land-use matters, including a proposed ordinance to amend county regulations related to retail establishments selling hemp-derived or synthetic cannabinoid products. The changes would address where those businesses can operate, how far they must be from certain locations, and include new operational restrictions.
Council will also take up multiple readings on rezonings, including a property along Black River Road and another parcel on Red Hill Road, both tied to residential and general development requests. In addition, council is scheduled to review an ordinance addressing the use and regulation of nitrous oxide and retail display standards, along with a potential amendment to establish local regulations for golf carts within the county.
Appointments, briefings from county administration, and an executive session are also listed on the agenda. The meeting is open to the public and streams live at the County’s YouTube channel.
