On Wednesday, a Kershaw County man was found guilty of the 2018 murder of his girlfriend. Alexander Harmon was originally arrested after his father called the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office to report Harmon. Deputies went to Harmon’s residence, where they found 19-year-old Katelin Jordyn Crocker, dead from a gunshot wound to the head. A shotgun and an empty bullet casing were also recovered at the scene. In addition, body cam footage from a deputy shows Harmon confessing to the shooting.
Harmon was initially released on a $150,000 bond following his arrest. He was then charged after he failed to appear in court in November of 2023. He was arrested in Iowa in January, and extradited to Kershaw County. Following his guilty verdict on Wednesday, Harmon was sentenced to life in prison.
