Passenger in Auto Accident Passes Away

According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, 911 received a call at 2:49 PM on Sunday September 22nd of a motor vehicle accident on I 20-mile marker 87 West Bound Side. 78 year old Raymond T Griffin of Columbia was a passenger of the vehicle, but it appears that he did not die due to the accident. Mr Griffin had a number of medical problems, and was wearing a seat belt. The driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital in the Columbia area where the passenger was pronounced dead on arrival and the driver was later released.
