This past Friday night high school football was kicked off in Kershaw County and the North Central Knights started their season at home against Great Falls. The Knights dominated the game by rushing for 329 yards and playing great defense, as they would defeat Great Falls 56-14. North Central will travel to McBee this Friday night for a 7:30pm kick.
The Lugoff Elgin Demons’ new head coach Leon Boulware started his year this past Friday night as the Demons traveled to Lower Richland. The first half was filled with offense as both teams would go into halftime tied at 28. In the second half both defenses settled in, Lower Richland would have a 34-28 lead late in the fourth quarter. Lugoff Elgin was looking at fourth and long with the game on the line, when EJ Richardson would throw a 40 yard touchdown pass to give the Demons the win, 35-34. The Camden Bulldogs would kickoff their Season this past Saturday night at home against White Knoll. Both teams played for a State Title a year ago, and this one lived up to the hype. Camden would score first in the second quarter to take a 7-0 lead but White Knoll would answer and at the half the game was tied up at 7. The Bulldogs would once again take the lead on a Wyatt Thompson touchdown run to take the lead 14-7, but once again White Knoll would answer with a rushing touchdown of their own and tie the game up at 14. Then late in the fourth quarter with less than two minutes left, White Knoll would take their first lead on the game 21-14, on another rushing touchdown. Camden would get once last shot and would drive the ball into White Knoll territory, but on fourth down, the Bulldogs pass in the end zone would fall incomplete giving While Knoll the win 21-14.
