According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, 911 received a call at 1:59 AM on Sunday June 9th of a motor vehicle accident. The Call came from crash detection on a cell phone. 41 year old Nicholas Nathaniel Baker was heading north on Veterans Row in Elgin when the accident occurred. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene.
