At the March 19th School Board Meeting, the Kershaw County School District Board approved two administrative hires. Dr. Tracy Johnson has been selected as the district’s new Coordinator of Special Services and Walter Jones has been named the Coordinator of Educator Services.
Dr. Johnson joins KCSD’s special services department with more than 24 years of education experience, serving from the lowcountry to the midlands. She began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and later served as an elementary principal and assistant principal. She joined the South Carolina Department of Education as a transformation coach in 2016, and currently serves as a district attendance interventionist.
Walter Jones joins the district as Coordinator of Educator Services with a wealth of experience ranging from classroom teaching to educational leadership roles. He currently serves as the Principal of Chester Park Center of Literacy through Technology in Chester County School District, where he has served for the past 10 years. Before stepping into his role as principal, Jones served as an assistant principal and fifth-grade teacher.
