According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, 911 received a call at 8:49 PM on Saturday March 16th of a Motor Vehicle versus Pedestrian on White Pond Road and Haigs Creek Drive in Elgin. It appears that 83 year old Nettie Hubbard of Elgin was crossing White Pond Rd going toward the Shell gas station when she was struck by a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
